Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Bundle Coming to India

  • India will get a 1TB PS4 Slim with a disc copy of Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Sony is aiming at a launch on or after October 26
  • It will be priced at Rs. 36,490
The Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 bundle will be coming to India. According to several sub-distributors speaking to Gadgets 360, Sony India plans to bring in the 1TB PS4 Slim bundled with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on disc. With most hardware bundles there's no exact date from Sony but it is likely that the company aims to bring it in during the launch week of Red Dead Redemption 2. So you should see it in stores any time after or on October 26. As for how much it would cost, the Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 bundle price is Rs. 36,490 similar to what Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and FIFA 19 PS4 bundles are in India.
That said, there is a distinct possibility of this bundle being postponed. Reason being, multiple sources in the distribution chain speaking to Gadgets 360 have confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2's India distributor, E-xpress has taken offence to this bundle's existence and is actively looking at ways to suppress its release. It feels that the presence of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 bundle will hamper its chances of selling copies at the game at its MRP of Rs.3,999. This is because, when console bundles make it to India, most retailers sell the pack-in game and console separately, driving down the price of the game.
Considering that E-xpress is Sony's distributor for its PSN top up cards, it will be interesting to see what stance either company adopts on this development. Gadgets 360 has got in touch with both Sony and E-xpress and will update this story if we hear from them.
Internationally, the Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro bundles come with either PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro in black and a copy of the game. The 1TB PS4 Pro variant price is $400 (around Rs. 28,000) while the PS4 Slim options include 1TB and 500GB. Prices of these are yet to be announced for Europe, US, and of course, India. For some reason the 500GB PS4 Slim bundle is limited to the UK, perhaps it's due to be phased out in favour of 1TB? Nonetheless, as we mentioned earlier, India will only get the 1TB PS4 Slim option.
